Park Rules & Legislation

Rules and regulations for the Parks of St. Lawrence are intended to ensure the safety of park visitors, protect the park and its resources, and ensure our park visitors have an enjoyable stay. When in doubt, ask a Park Ranger. The penalty for violation of the laws that apply in the Parks of the St. Lawrence may be eviction from the park or a monetary fine imposed by the Courts or both. The following is a summary of basic rules based upon the regulations made under the authority of the St. Lawrence Parks Commission Act:

Loud Noise

Disturbing Other Persons Be considerate. Please keep the volume of your music, voices and other noises to a reasonable level. Interfering with anyone else’s use or enjoyment of a park, day or night, is not only inconsiderate - it is also contrary to park regulations. Quiet hours are enforced 24 hours a day.

Alcoholic Beverages

Campgrounds operated by the Parks of the St. Lawrence permit the drinking of beer, wine and other spirits, but only on a registered campsite. Drinking, or the possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in any other park area is against the law.

Camping and Vehicle Permits

You must have a permit to camp or use your vehicle in the Parks of the St. Lawrence. A Camping Permit authorizes one vehicle and up to three pieces of shelter equipment per site. Only one tent trailer, house trailer or self-propelled camping unit, can be used in combination with two other pieces of shelter equipment, e.g. tent, dining shelter or tarp.

Boat Launching/Docking

The temporary storage of boats is permitted on campsites or within a designated area. Seasonal and transient dockage is available at Ivy Lea for a fee.

Check-In / Check-Out Times

Campsite check-in time is 2 p.m. and check-out is at 1 p.m. For roofed accommodation check-in time is 2 p.m. and check-out is at 10 a.m.

Extending Your Length of Stay

To extend your stay, you must renew your permit at the registration office prior to 1:00pm on departure day, providing the site has no reservations.

Shortening Your Length of Stay / Refund

To shorten your stay, you must do so at the registration office prior to 1:00 pm on the day of your departure.

Sales of Goods and Services

Only authorized concessionaires are permitted to sell goods and services in the Parks of the St. Lawrence.

Maximum Length of Stay

The maximum length of stay, at one campsite, is 23 nights. Extended Stay Camping is available at most campgrounds.

Changing Your Site

To change sites within the same campground, you must first enquire which sites are available for your length of stay. DO NOT set up camp until your permits have been confirmed and physically changed by the park staff.

Parking/Additional Vehicles

A camping permit includes the parking of one vehicle per campsite. Each additional vehicle requires a permit. Vehicles may be parked in designated areas only. Every park designates several spaces and campsites for additional vehicles.

Unlicensed Motor Vehicles, All Terrain

Vehicles ATV’s, off-road motorcycles or any other unlicensed vehicles cannot be used within the Parks of the St. Lawrence property.

Bicycles

Bicycles are allowed on roads and bike paths only.

Park Resources

Please help us to protect the park so that everyone may enjoy its beauty. Our parks are full of interesting and precious vegetation, wildlife, natural earth features and archeological and historical sites. Remember, it is against the law to remove or destroy anything in the Parks of the St. Lawrence.

Pets

Pets must be controlled and on a leash of less than two metres. Designated dog-friendly cabins are available at select campgrounds. Pets are also not allowed in swimming and beach areas.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to ensure that all visitors to their site and their vehicles have been registered and the day-use fee paid during these times. All visitors must leave the campground at 9:00 pm. Only registered campers may remain in the campground after 9:00 pm.

A maximum of six people or a single-family unit is permitted on each campsite (a single-family unit is comprised of parents and their children that under 18 years of age).

How to Book

Tips for using our reservation system

Please view the following video tutorial to help set up your account, a necessary step before you reserve a campsite.

Viewing the Campground Maps

The campground maps have been updated to reflect changes to services and amenities. The maps are a great way to familiarize yourself with the campsites and where you may wish to reserve.

  • A legend box will appear on the right hand side of the map. To minimize this box click on the ‘hide legend’ at the top of the legend box. You can also move the legend box with your mouse.

  • Click on the campsite icons to display information about that particular campsite

  • ICONS - Please note that we have updated our campground maps and icons. The new legend can be viewed here

  • USE MAP OR GRID? If you are booking using the Grid you can add more search criteria. For example, site type, size of trailer. Using the Map, you are limited to the Park name, date and number of nights. If you have a larger trailer or equipment that may not fit on many sites, it is best to use the Grid for your search. You can also refer to the PDF Map for a general overview of your desired campground.
NOTE: You cannot book from the PDF Map.

Making Payments in the Booking System

  • Split payments are not accepted. What this means is that you cannot split payment of the reservation over more than one credit card. However, you can split between a gift card and a credit card.

  • BOOKING FOR FRIENDS? If you have booked a reservation for yourself and one for friends and wish to use two credit cards to pay, they must be two individual reservations.

  • CREDIT CARD - Due to high security standards which have been established to protect your personal and financial information, you will be required to also provide the 3-digit number on the back of the credit card. Each transaction (reservation) must be paid for using one card. If booking for friends, please remember to enter their information into the "Occupant" section as the people staying on the campsite.

  • GIFT CARDS –GIFT CARD Gift Cards can be redeemed for camping, day-use or merchandise sold in the campground stores. You can also use the gift cards to pay for online reservations. Note: If using for online purchases, the value of the Gift Card must be greater than the value of your online purchase.

Making Your Reservation

  • CANCEL / MODIFY / REPRINT RESERVATION – to make a change to your reservation, LOGIN, select YOUR ACCOUNT, then YOUR BOOKINGS and select the reservation you wish to cancel, modify or reprint. A change fee may apply.

  • RESERVATION DETAILS - if you wish to retrieve the details of your camping reservations or confirmation letter, go to YOUR ACCOUNT and then you can view your reservation history and details.

  • TERMINOLOGY – you will notice some changes in language used to describe the camping experience.

  • “Reserve unit” means Reserve campsite

  • “Lodging” – click lodging to find Cabins, Mini Cabins, Treehouse and Family Lodge

  • VIEW SEARCH will take you to the grid to select a campsite

  • Select a Region tab – by selecting ‘region’ (St. Lawrence Parks) you keep your search broad across all campgrounds. This will give you the maximum choice for site type. This is particularly useful if you are looking to book a cabin or a 50 amp site, which may not be available at all campgrounds. Also, if you are looking for a specific site type during high season, you can quickly see what is available.

  • Select a Park tab – this tab gives you the option of choosing a specific campground for your stay and only availability at that campground will be displayed.

  • If you are flexible as to power requirements and would be interested in availability in sites with 15 amp, 30 amp or 50 amp when you select site type, select ELECTRIC from the Additional Options tab that shows site types. By not specifying, all electrical sites will be displayed and you may make your selection.
