St. Lawrence Parks Commission’s Autumn Attractions Await

Eastern Ontario — It may seem like summer is over, but that doesn’t have to mean the end of cultural and recreational experiences or family fun in Eastern Ontario.

St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC) properties remain open after Labour Day with modified hours and programming:

Upper Canada Village

  • Open for regular programming Wednesday-Sunday, September 6-10 and September 13 to 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Walking tours daily September 11, 12, 18-28 on the hour between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
  • 1860s Fall Fair Weekend Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17 – included in Village Admission
  • Pumpkinferno runs September 29 to October 29

Fort Henry

  • Open for regular programming Wednesday-Sunday, September 6 to October 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Admission available until 4:00 p.m. but last guided tour departs at 3:30 p.m.)
  • Guided tours in English and French are available
  • Fort Fright opens on September 29 and runs select evenings until October 31

Kingston Pen Tours

  • Express, Standard and Extended Tours available 7 days a week September 4 to November 5
  • Express, Standard and Extended Tours available Wednesday to Sunday from November 8 to November 26
  • Movie nights hosted on September 1, 2, 8 and 9
  • Prisoners of Age travelling exhibit is a stand-alone or add-on experience featuring compelling stories and exceptional photography offered until November 26
  • Kingston Pen Tours presents Pumpkinferno on select evenings from September 29 to October 29

Crysler Park Marina

Open for seasonal and transient docking until October 9

Upper Canada Golf Course

  • Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from September 1 to September 30
  • Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from October 1 to October 31

Parks of the St. Lawrence Campgrounds

  • A new initiative to extend fall camping offerings means Mille Roches Campground will be open until September 11 and most campgrounds will remain open until Monday, October 9
  • Even further extended, Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary Campground and Farran Park Campground remain open until October 22
  • Campground Office Hours beginning September 5, 2023: Sunday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Friday – Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Beaches & Day Use Areas

  • Most beaches and day-use areas closed after Labour Day
  • Brown’s Bay Beach & Day Use Area open weekends from Labour Day until October 9, 2023
  • Long Sault Parkway open until mid-November (weather dependent)
